Lady Blogsta for life
Hey everybody, I am on the way to becoming a bonafide blogsta. I am so proud of myself for creating posts, posting comments and in general, maintaining the Lady Blog. I actually uploaded a photo after troublehooting and conforming it to a jpg image. That was a big thing for me because I did it while alone in the UWI library.
I have come to realise that to become confident in the operations of cyber space I need active engagement. That means an uninterrupted period of no children, no husband, cat, dog or parrot, or whatever lifeforms inhabit my sphere of existence. This 'me time' was really helpful as I got to immerse myself in the process and not just post to make up the required 12.
I have also come to realize and internalize that to create a post, I really have to take time and reflect, ruminate on what thoughts I am going to verbalize and put out there for people to see. By the way, reading your posts and comments has really been an enlightening experience.
I am therefore on the road to becoming a blogsta for life.

Hi Lady Blog
ReplyDeleteWhat an innovative name! You certainly have No danger of becoming 'obsolete' as you commented on one of your posts. You are too creative for that - there is no way a computer can come up with 'Lady Blog' without the input of a bona fide teacher (teacher of computer programming perhaps but a teacher all the same).
It was your creativity in not only your title but the tantalizing picture of the ladybug that made me stop to read and comment on your blog. You have stated some salient points in how to master the blogosphere as an individual and I believe that some of these points can be used in our implementation of these technologies in the classroom. In addition, to your points of uninterrupted time to write and reflect, our students need to be given direct instructions on how to create and use a blog. For effective incorporation of the technology to the classroom, Educational CyberPlayGround Inc. (1997) suggests that teacher trainees and by extension teachers must model the technology for the students. Other tips on how to integrate technology into the classroom can be found on their website at http://www.edu-cyberpg.com/Technology/HowToIntegrateTech.html. This website is so engaging I commented on it on my blog. I am certain that as creative as you are you would find it appealing as well.
